Launched in September 2009, English.edusites.co.uk offers English teachers a unique, useful and increasingly large collection of teaching guides and schemes of work for A Level English Language, A Level English Literature and the combined A Level English Language & Literature courses.
There is also an increasing range of guides and schemes of work covering various aspects of GCSE English and GCSE English Literature.
The site is proving increasingly popular among English teachers because it offers something a little different from what is available either in course textbooks or elsewhere on the Internet. Each guide has been prepared by experienced teachers and has been written to offer a truly useful approach to teaching a particular unit of work.
English.edusites.co.uk is committed eventually to producing a wide range of guides that will cover all of the major exam board requirements for A Level and GCSE, as well, in due course, for KS3.
The guides offered are mainly of two types. Some provide the busy teacher with an off-the-shelf series of lessons that will allow for an interesting and useful learning experience; others provide a rather different way of approaching a particular unit, one that will give students a high chance of creating subtle rather than mundane responses and thus enable them more easily to achieve the higher grade bands. Find out more by visiting our Sample Resources area.
Our aim is always to provide you, the hard-pressed and busy English specialist, with useful material that will make your teaching day less arduous, more interesting and very satisfying. We always welcome your comments and requests so please do send them in. We guarantee to listen and respond.
If you have a scheme of work or an activity that really boosts understanding, then we’d love to hear from you! We pay attractive rates and especially welcome material that will help teachers who are new to a particular exam board or unit.
We also publish a monthly comic strip called Ardnox High which covers the escapades of English students. Ardnox High was developed for us by Hunt Emerson, a renowned cartoonist who draws Little Plum and Ratz for The Beano.
