  • There are 40 marks Section A and 40 marks for Section B
  • You are reminded of the need for good English and clear presentation in your answers
  • You will be assessed on your reading in Section A

  • Answer all the questions in this section.
  • You are advised to spend about 45 minutes on this section.

Question 1

Read again the first part of Source A (the first three paragraphs). Choose four statements below which are TRUE.

  • A The man spills a hot drink down himself because the stewardess knocks his elbow
  • B The man is on a long distance flight and is feeling very tired
  • C The man was forced to use Ryanair as they are the only ones to service the route he needed to take
  • D The man feels that the stewardess is treating him badly
  • E The stewardess never apologises to the man
  • F The man is told he is not allowed to cross his legs
  • G The man feels like he shouldn’t have apologised
  • H The stewardess doesn’t say anything in response to the man’s apology
